Difference between Hosted Payment Page and Payment Request API integration

Maxpay offers two types of integrations so merchants can choose the one that will better suit their needs - Hosted Payment Page(HPP) or Payment Request API(H2H).

Both integrations require registration on the Maxpay merchant portal first.

With HPP integration clients can easily set up a custom payment page in our merchant portal,  customize the payment widget, and create subscription or fixed products. In addition, retry and discount tools are available for HPP integration to increase the conversion. The advantages of this integration type are:

  1. Fast and easy integration - takes around one business day to set up and integrate the HPP.
  2. Merchant needs to provide:
    - His own filled and signed PCI DSS SAQ A v4.0.
    - Quarterly reports of ASV scans of merchant's sites, where the hosted payment page is located (or quarterly reports of ASV scans of hosted e-commerce solution, which merchant uses, if any) only to be PCI DSS v4.0 compliant for this type of integration.
  3. No need for a massive IT source - our integration team helps to set up a payment page and test the payment cycle.
  4. Flexibility - merchant can either set up the products and billing logic on Maxpay side or  manage it internally and pass it via custom product API.
  5. Design modifications - easy to customize the payment widget in Maxpay merchant portal and choose redirect, iframe or pop-up payment form.

H2H integration allows the merchant to store and manage cardholder information internally and pass the transaction as API request to Maxpay. The advantages of payment request API are:

  1. Ability to store and manage credit card data, but a business must be PCI DSS compliant.
  2. Flexible integration - wide range of available transactions and custom fields, merchant decides which information to provide and how manage the billing, our integration team helps with documentation and supports all stages of testing.
  3. Fully-customized design - developers have full access to the code and so they are able to design items according to the company’s branding.
